NOTE: Make sure you have updated your WhatsApp with the latest version on your Andriod device or iPhone. If you have done that, then follow these simple steps below:

1. Launch your WhatsApp on your phone.

2. Tap on the 3 dots at the top right side of your screen.

3. Tap on the Settings tab.

4. Tap on the Accounts tab.

5. Tap on Privacy.

6. Tap on Groups

7. Now you will see the following options such as;

  • Everyone
  • My Contacts
  • Nobody

Option 1: Everyone:

If you are okay with anyone (including those who are not in your contact list) to be able to add you to their random groups, then select this option.

Option 2: My Contacts:

If you wish to be added to random group chats by your friends alone (your contacts), then select this option.

Option 3: Nobody:

If you always want privacy and peace of mind and hated been added to random groups chats, then select this option.

With this option, group admins (owners of the group) will have the option to send you a private request asking if you are interested in joining their WhatsApp group chat.

If yes, you will then accept the invitation and you will find yourself added to the group.

But if you are not interested, all you have to do is just decline the invitation.

With this feature added to WhatsApp, you will no longer have to worry about unwanted group chats and lots of messages that hits your phone every single minute due to the irrelevant contents shared in these groups.

NOTE: This group privacy feature is already rolled out to some WhatsApp users.

The feature is said to be officially rolled out worldwide in a month time.
